You Deserve Nothing by Alexander Maksik

Beautifully lyrical writing, & I must admit I'm not at all impartial in my review: the setting inspired me! The International School of France, the banks of the Seine & sidewalk cafes & early-morning croissants/cafe creme just put me right inside the novel. Then again, I was intrigued by the dichotomy of the teacher character: all charm and intellectualism inside the classroom; all being & nothingness inside his tiny apartment. This would make a great film!
